I am 48 years old – I\’ve been fit and thin my entire life. I\’ve never dieted and I rarely get sick (…don\’t catch colds or the flu). Sometimes allergies would flare up (usually when I moved to a different region of the US) but then quickly go away. Everything changed a few months ago when I experienced joint pain in my ankles, developed red bumps on my cheeks, felt exhausted when I woke up, and endured various digestive issues. I knew it had to be food-related – but I always ate enough healthy food to convince myself that I was healthy. I was wrong! Thanks to your website, I realized that I was on sugar-overload and probably suffered from a yeast intolerance. I downloaded your cookbook and was delighted to find simple, practical recipes for someone like me – a non-cook. It didn\’t take long for me to see the benefits – the joint pain went away, my skin is clearing up…my tummy feels better…my break-outs that seemed to be related to shampoo and styling products have disappeared. And although I don\’t need to lose weight, I\’ve lost a few pounds (in my belly). And I know it works…I ran to Subway a few days ago and got a turkey sub. Yikes…learned my lesson.

Due to our SAD (Standard American Diet) there has been an overwhelming increase in gastrointestinal problems and symptoms. What I find in my practice is often yeast and bacterial overgrowth is an underlying factor in these issues. Although nutritional supplements can be beneficial in eradicating these issues, the most effective treatment has been making appropriate dietary changes. The Yeast Diet Cookbook is one of the best resources that I have found in incorporating these changes with my patients. I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling with yeast issues or who would simply like to maximize their health.

I went on the yeast free diet 8 years ago not to lose weight BUT just to feel better. Well within 2 weeks I had way more energy and the weight just fell off me. People (strangers) would come up to me and tell me how good I looked and I did I just glowed. Heres a sample of some of the cooking that I do: Turkey burgers no flour, bread or egg.‏ 1.5 pounds minced turkey 4 cloves of minced garlic 1 TBSP grated ginger 3 green onions chopped 1/2 cup of cooked brown basmati rice 1 TBSP worcestershire sauce few drops of hot sauce Mix ingredients together and form into patties. Broil or grill 10 – 12 minutes. (I fried mine in a cast iron pan on the stove.

I battled with yeast overgrowth for years. In the 1980\’s there were books on Candida overgrowth and supplements; but my symptoms would always re-occur. When I went to a local naturopath in 2010, he suggested that I alter my diet and take herbal remedies. When he gave me the list of what I could not eat, I was so discouraged! I thought I would have to starve, eat the same three foods forever or just give up and accept having the condition. Whitney\’s \’The Yeast Diet\’ cookbook was invaluable! She took a limited amount of foods and creatively combined them into a plethora of delicious, satisfying dishes for every meal of the day (and snacks!) She uses common ingredients and uncomplicated directions to help you whip up your meal so you can get on with life. Every health practioner needs to know of this cookbook so their patients will have a great tool for victory over this condition and the ramifications. My naturopath does now!
