Yeast Free Foods

The Yeast Diet has been used for years by naturalists as a way to detox the body of overstocks of yeast that can come from certain medications, processed foods or from exposure to others with yeast overgrowth.  The food we eat plays a major role in our body's delicate balance between maintaining healthy levels of Candida yeast and prevention of harmful yeast overgrowth.  With processed foods at an all time high, chances are you, like most people, are taking in way more yeast-enabling foods than your body was ever intended to handle.  Below is a list of yeast free food categories that can be bought or prepared yeast/sugar/dairy free, and are suitable for using while on the yeast diet or after in order to maintain the proper balance of yeast within the body.

*Some of the following yeast free foods are found at the average grocery store, but many are exclusive to health food markets.  Organic foods are always ideal, especially while doing the yeast diet.

Eggs:

Grits

Turkey bacon

Toast (two good kinds of bread allowed are from a health food grocery store- Sami’s Bakery Millet and Flax bread from the bakery section and Sourdough Spelt Bread from the frozen food section).

Oatmeal with rice milk

Waffles with almond butter (see recipes for waffle recipe)

*If you have access to a juicer, this is wonderful to have in the morning!  You can buy carrots in bulk for juicing, you will  go through them surprisingly fast!  Use about 10 carrots and one beet for every 2 people (if the beet is big, use half).  I recommend straining the pulp.
