Several people from the Facebook page mentioned that they could use some different ideas for salad dressings to help them on the yeast free Candida Diet so I wanted to post a couple of my favorites.

One of the tricks I enjoy is using guacamole on my salad to change things up – pair this with a black bean salsa for a delicious southwestern salad. You can also use guacamole in place of mayo for sandwiches or as a dip for your favorite veggies.

Guacamole

- 1 avocado, mashed with a fork or hand mixer
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder

Combine avocado with tomato, green onion, salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Use as a dip, dressing or garnish.

Note: Guacamole is best served immediately as avocado will start to brown once cut.

Another favorite yeast free salad dressing is the classic Italian below:

Italian Salad Dressing

- 1/2 c light olive oil
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tsp fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tsp fresh oregano, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt

In a sealable container, mix the olive oil, parsley, basil, oregano, green onions and salt. Marinate in fridge and serve over veggies or your salad of choice. Keep refrigerated.

Black Bean Salsa

As you prepare to get started on the Candida Diet yeast cleanse it is VERY IMPORTANT to have a plan in place for meals BEFORE getting started. This is the first of the two most important parts of preparing for the yeast free diet (the other I will tell you about in the next post).

To help you with your meal planning for the Candida Diet, I have attached the template I use to organize my meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for each day I am on the diet (as my gift to you).

Grab the Meal Planning Template Here

Step #1 – you will need to have at least two to three weeks worth of recipes to plug into the template.

Where to Find Yeast Free Recipes:

- You can find and print individual yeast free recipes from various sites online.

- You can go through your own recipes and adjust the ingredients to fit the yeast free diet guidelines.

- Or, if you want to save some time you can grab a copy of my Yeast Diet Cookbook & Meal Planning Guide with 250 delicious yeast free recipes, tools and tips specifically designed for the Candida Diet.

Whatever you do please don’t skip this planning step.

Step#2 – simply enter in the meal on the corresponding day and then relax knowing you won’t suffer a mid-diet meltdown from lack of planning.

Step#3 – finally, use your meal planning list to go shopping this week and make sure you have the ingredients you need to prepare the meals you are planning.

Be on the lookout for the next (and last) planning step in preparation for the cleanse.

Health and blessings,

~Whitney Frazier

P.S. – I want EVERYONE to have access to the tools and resources I used to find success on the yeast free diet. If you are reading this and you want to try my recipes but the $17 price tag is going to keep you from investing in your health please send me a note to info@theyeastdiet.com and I will make sure you get a copy free of charge.

Fall is a great time for delicious soups and stews that can be enjoyed as the weather gets cooler. Now is the perfect time to dig into the fall recipes that will keep you warm and satisfied on the cool nights ahead.

A hearty vegetable soup is a satisfying and nutritious yeast free recipe for the Candida Diet cleanse. While some yeast free meals can leave you feeling empty, I always enjoy the way this vegetable soup satisfies my cravings and warms me up.

Loaded Vegetable Soup

- *Beef soup bone (check the meat freezer section or use carcass from a roast)
- 1 onion
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3-4 qt water
- 1/8 c brown rice, uncooked
- 1/8 c barley
- 2 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 turnip, peeled and cubed
- 1 beet, peeled and cubed
- ¼ cabbage, coarsely sliced
- 2-3 red potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 large fresh tomato, chopped
- 2 green onions or fresh chives, chopped
- 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in a large pot and brown soup bones on all sides. Add onion and sauté. Add water (or ¾ full in pot), bring to boil and let simmer for at least 4 hours (until soup-bone meat is tender). Take out soup-bone meat. Strain for pure broth. Let meat cool, cut in small pieces and return to pot. Add rice, barley, carrots, turnip, beet, cabbage and potatoes. Cook for 1 hr (or more). Then add tomato, green onions or fresh chives and seasonings. Cook until all veggies are tender.

*For vegetarian simply leave out the beef soup bone.

Meal Planning for the Candida Diet

Finding the right recipes to help you meal plan on the yeast free Candida Diet can help you save time, energy and money on the candida cleanse. Investing a couple extra dollars on the front end for a good Candida Diet Cookbook will pay dividends as you jump into a new and limited eating schedule.

Here are the top things I do to prepare whenever I am planning to do the yeast free candida diet cleanse:

Clear the cabinets – getting rid of all the sugary and yeasty foods BEFORE starting your diet cleanse will help keep you from having a weak moment with a sugary treat. Remove the temptations including all dairy, anything with sugar, fruit, and all products that contain yeast.

Make a list – write out your grocery list before heading to the store. Focus on fresh vegetables and lean (organic) meats as your staples. Most prepackaged foods contain preservatives that you will need to avoid on this diet so plan ahead. List out your meals for each day on paper and use that meal plan when you shop to ensure you are not stuck without a key ingredient during the diet.

Meal preparation – food items like vegetables can be prepped in advance to save you some cooking time later on. In addition, making a double portion that can be eaten at a later meal will save you valuable time over cooking something new for every single meal. If I write down which recipes I am going to use for each meal it helps me plan for leftovers and meal preparations in advance.

Order supplements – the diet by itself won’t do much long term good without some good supplements to help clear out the yeast overgrowth and rebuild the body’s natural defenses. Learn about several different types of supplements and where to find them here: http://www.theyeastdiet.com/candida-diet-supplements.html

Find a baseline – I find it motivating when I can see actual progress when I am on the diet. To do that I take the online candida test to get an idea how I would rate my symptoms at the beginning of the diet before I start. I can then go back throughout the diet and take it again to see if my symptoms have improved based on my score each time. Sometimes it is little things like that that make you realize how far you have come.

Find some support – it is tough to feel like you are doing something alone. The fact is that there are thousands of other people who have used this diet and found relief from aggravating symptoms like gas and bloating, recurring yeast infections, brain fog, joint pain, depression, irritability, ongoing sugar cravings, headaches and recurring illness. If you have a supportive spouse or significant other that will do the diet along with you that is a great start.

You can also find a supportive forum online at our Facebook page where thousands of others ask questions, share advice and provide support or on our G+ community for topic specific discussions and sharing.

The first time I tried the yeast free diet I remember going to the grocery store and spending a couple hours reading labels! I filled my cart with all the yeast free items I could find without much thought about what specific meals I was going to make with all the ingredients I had purchased, but I felt excited to start the cleanse.

It wasn’t long before I started to get behind. Cooking for the whole family and thinking through all the candida diet restrictions was literally taking me hours each day. I found a couple recipes that were easy and I got into a rut making the same thing each day.

The extra work of cooking from scratch along with not feeling very good and being without some of my favorite comfort foods was too much for me and I ended up calling it quits before I should have. I thought I had planned and knew what I was doing but the reality of it was that I hadn’t thought through what meals I would make, what ingredients I needed for those meals and I hadn’t done any preparation to make it easier on myself.

After that first failure I began compiling a list of recipes into a Candida Diet cookbook that I use as a reference and meal planning guide whenever I do the candida diet cleanse. It is something that has been an invaluable resource for me and I wouldn’t think of tackling this diet without it ever again.

Proper planning can make all the difference between success and failure on the yeast free candida diet. Planning your meals in advance using a Candida Diet cookbook like mine can really take away a large burden and allow you to focus on feeling better. To read more about what is included in my Candida Diet Cookbook & Meal Planning Guide or to grab your copy simply follow the link below.

http://www.theyeastdiet.com/yeast-diet-ebook.html

I hope you can take advantage of the resources on this site and our Facebook page and G+ community to realize success and health with the yeast free candida diet.

Blessings,

Whitney Frazier

Knowing how your symptoms line up with the most common symtoms associated with yeast overgrowth can give you a good idea whether what you are experiencing may be yeast related.

While it is not a replacement for medical advice the candida test is helpful for tracking your symptoms before and during your yeast cleanse. After answering a series of questions you will receive your score and the average score of everyone who has taken the candida test. You can use this number to track your progress. You can retake the test as often as you like to watch your yeast number drop as your symptoms improve.

This recipe comes at the request of one of the members of the Candida Diet facebook page for an Asian style recipe to use on a yeast free Candida Diet. Enjoy!

Crock Pot Chicken with Asian Vegetables

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

- 1 can sliced bamboo shoots, drained and rinsed

- 1 can baby corn, drained and rinsed

- 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained and rinsed

- 3/4 cup vegetable stock, divided

- 1 tablespoon cold pressed olive oil

- Sea salt

Heat the cold pressed olive oil over medium in a medium-large skillet. When the oil is nearly smoking, add the chicken breast halves, and brown well on both sides. Add the browned chicken to the crock pot.

Combine the vegetables in a large bowl, add 1/4 cup vegetable stock, and mix well. Top the chicken evenly with the vegetable mixture. Add the remaining 1/2 cup vegetable stock to the skillet, and heat while scraping up the residue from the bottom of the pan. Add the entire mixture to the crock pot. Cover, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 4 to 5 hours. Season to taste with sea salt at the end of the cooking time.

Substitute the vegetables used to meet specific diet requirements or to add some variety. Braggs Liquid Aminos can be used in place of soy sauce.

Like many people I used to suffer from recurring yeast infections due to yeast overgrowth in my system, but in 2006 I decided enough was enough. After my first failed attempt at the diet due to poor planning I tackled it again after planning my steps and organizing my meals in advance. The second time was a success and I haven’t had the recurring yeast infections since!

Gas and bloating is a pretty common issue for those suffering from Candida yeast overgrowth. According to a recent poll it is the number one yeast related issue followed by recurring yeast infections, fatigue and joint / body aches.

A healthy balanced diet can go a long way toward reducing gas and bloating as well as other common symptoms associated with yeast overgrowth but a cleanse may be necessary to really get the yeast under control and get the body back in balance.

To reduce gas and bloating it is important to follow a yeast free Candida Diet to stop the yeast overgrowth and re-balance the natural systems within the body. To do that simply eliminate sugar in any form (including fruits), all yeast, fermented products (vinegar and vinegar containing foods) and dairy. Anti-fungal supplements are often used in addition to a yeast free diet to cleanse the body of excess yeast. The typical cleanse lasts anywhere from three to six weeks although for some suffering with chronic symptoms a yeast free diet may take longer to show results.

The common symptoms of yeast overgrowth including gas and bloating don’t have to be a constant problem. Instead of covering up the symptoms with medication try a natural cure for gas and bloating to help solve the problem and get back to healthy living.
