Candida Diet
The Candida Diet is a natural cleansing diet aimed at reducing yeast overgrowth in the system.
The name comes from the type of yeast called Candida Albicans which is commonly found in the human body in sub-toxic quantities. Eating too many processed foods can lead to an overgrowth of Candida Albicans yeast as can taking antibiotics, using birth control pills, or having chemotherapy all of which can kill off the healthy bacteria that lives in the human body.
When the healthy bacteria is killed off the balance between the bacteria and the naturally occurring yeast is lost and the Candida yeast grows unchecked. Many symptoms have been tied to yeast overgrowth such as headaches, constipation, bloating, gas, joint aches, depression, recurring yeast infections, lack of concentration and more.
One of the best ways to get back the healthy balance in the body is to start eating right by eliminating the yeast containing foods like most breads and to stop eating sugar in any form. There are supplements that can be taken to help expel the extra yeast from the system as the diet progresses and this may speed the recovery period.
Many people tell us that the hardest part about the yeast free diet is figuring out what to eat that doesn’t have yeast and that does not contain any sugar. Meal planning can become a chore and can lead to giving up before the body has a chance to recover.
