Candida Diet

The Candida Diet is a natural cleansing diet aimed at reducing yeast overgrowth in the system.

The name comes from the type of yeast called Candida Albicans which is commonly found in the human body in sub-toxic quantities.  Eating too many processed foods can lead to an overgrowth of Candida Albicans yeast as can taking antibiotics, using birth control pills, or having chemotherapy all of which can kill off the healthy bacteria that lives in the human body.

When the healthy bacteria is killed off the balance between the bacteria and the naturally occurring yeast is lost and the Candida yeast grows unchecked.  Many symptoms have been tied to yeast overgrowth such as headaches, constipation, bloating, gas, joint aches, depression, recurring yeast infections, lack of concentration and more.

One of the best ways to get back the healthy balance in the body is to start eating right by eliminating the yeast containing foods like most breads and to stop eating sugar in any form.  There are supplements that can be taken to help expel the extra yeast from the system as the diet progresses and this may speed the recovery period.

Many people tell us that the hardest part about the yeast free diet is figuring out what to eat that doesn’t have yeast and that does not contain any sugar.  Meal planning can become a chore and can lead to giving up before the body has a chance to recover.

Finding yeast free recipes and planning meals in advance is the key to reclaiming your health.  One of our favorite yeast free recipes is the Herb Roasted Chicken recipe we have listed on the website.  Get the delicious Herb Roasted Chicken recipe and several other yeast free recipes by visiting the website at http://www.theyeastdiet.com/yeast-free-recipes.html or join our newsletter to have them sent right to your inbox.  Here’s to your health!

How To Deal with Yeast Over the Holidays

The holidays seem to bring out the best and worst in people and in our health. Naturally no great holiday celebration would be complete without turkey and gravy with stuffing and more gravy as well as some mashed potatoes with (of course) even more gravy on top of that!

Overeating and especially overeating on sweets through the holiday season can cause many of the symptoms commonly associated with yeast overgrowth to appear. Constipation, bloating, achy joints, etc…can be a flag that there is too much yeast in your system.

“With the holidays so close how should I deal with all the food?” Well not all holiday foods are bad for you if you are on the diet or planning to do the diet cleanse. Meats and vegetables are great and are a part of the “accepted foods listing”, however all the sweets and desserts (including fruit) are off limits. If you are in the middle of the diet stay strong and don’t blow the whole thing for one or two days. While a small slipup will not ruin it for you don’t use the holiday as an excuse to overindulge.

If you haven’t started the yeast diet cleanse yet you may want to wait until after the holiday to ensure you won’t be tempted to quit before your finished. Make it part of your New Years Resolutions and start it off right. If your spouse will do the diet with you that could add the extra support you need to make sure you finish. Make it a game or a competition in some way (if that motivates you). If you are planning on waiting until after the New Year celebrations, start planning now by getting the necessary supplements and begin your meal planning so there are no setbacks once you start.

Take action on your plans for a healthier you but start today. Start planning out your grocery list and go ahead and purchase your supplements but take action now. Even if it is just to plan your steps make sure you begin with a plan and finish with success.

To your health this holiday season!

Candida Albicans - Ailments

Candida Albicans is a type of yeast that lives naturally within the body and in a healthy individual the Candida Albicans yeast is kept in check by the many healthy bacteria surrounding it in the system.

Anti-biotics, birth control pills, chemotherapy, poor diet, and other things can rid your body of the bacteria it needs to maintain a healthy yeast level.  Without these bacteria yeast can overpopulate causing yeast overgrowth which has been known to lead to symptoms including, headaches, joint aches, depression, recurring yeast infections, bowel issues, constipation, bloating etc…

Yeast overgrowth is often not diagnosed and instead the symptoms are treated which never really solves the yeast problem.  I would be interested in comments about yeast overgrowth related symptoms or side effects.  What did you do to solve the problem?
